Ideally situated at the heart of Dorset′s world Heritage Jurassic coastline, in Chickerell near Weymouth. The Lugger Inn is a traditional village pub with locals bar, restaurant, function room/skittle alley, beer garden and a quality 14-bedroom hotel.
Bar
The Lugger Inn is a traditional pub going back 200 years. Although it has been totally refurbished and extended in 2004, it retains much of its traditional style with quarry stone floor and the walls are adorned with local artifacts and pictures of fishing scenes. The pub is open from 8 a.m. for breakfast, tea and coffee. The pub sells a wide selection of wines, beers and spirits, including 4 Dorset real ales, 3 local ciders, 5 different ports and over 30 malt whiskies. Pub meals are served from 12 noon. till 6 p.m. Meals in the restaurant are from 12 noon to late evening.
Restaurant
The Lugger Inn Restaurant is now one of the most popular in the area. The range of meals is extensive and the highly qualified and experienced chefs prepare some of the best home-cooked meals. Much of the produce, including steaks, meats, bread and sausages are locally sourced. The steaks and meat for the best selling food item, Steak and Ale Pie, are from Dorset reared Longhorn cattle, a herd which is renowned for its taste and tenderness. The fish ‘n chips with its secret home-made beer batter is unique. The recently refurbished Restaurant serves food from 8 a .m. with breakfast through lunchtimes and into late evenings. The self-service Sunday Carvery is very popular and advance booking is advisable
We have a sample menu for viewing. We also have daily specials, including filled baguettes and fresh fish, both in the Bar and in the Restaurant.
Besides the Restaurant and bar, there is a large beer garden with tables and benches and it is very popular on dry and sunny days.
The Cottage Room
The newly decorated cottage room is available for weddings, parties, anniversaries, Christenings as well as for meetings and conferences. The cottage room can be converted into a skittle alley and is available for private skittles parties with buffet meals.
